On January 1, 2023, I made a commitment. One piece of content, minimum, every single day. No days off. No exceptions. Sick, traveling, hungover — didn't matter. I posted.
1,095 days. 1,095+ posts. Here's exactly what happened.
YEAR 1: THE GRIND
I started with 1,200 followers across all platforms. By the end of year one, I had 8,400. That's not explosive. That's not viral. That's SLOW.
Most of my posts got under 500 views. I made videos that got 47 views. I wrote threads that got 2 likes. I published carousels that got zero saves.
I kept posting.
The hardest part wasn't making the content. It was watching it fail, publicly, every day, and doing it again the next morning.
YEAR 2: THE SHIFT
Something changed around month 14. I couldn't tell you exactly when. But the numbers started moving. Average views went from 400 to 2,100. Engagement rate doubled. I started getting DMs from people I'd never met saying they saw my content everywhere.
By the end of year two I had 34,000 followers. Four times what I had after year one.
I also got my first three agency clients. All from content. Zero from ads. Zero from cold outreach. They came to ME because they'd been watching me post for over a year.
YEAR 3: THE COMPOUND EFFECT
Year three is when compounding kicked in. HARD.
I ended year three with 127,000 followers. The agency went from 3 clients to 23. Revenue went from $14K/month to $189K/month. I hired 11 people.
All from posting. Every. Single. Day.
WHAT I LEARNED
THE FIRST 6 MONTHS ARE A LIE. They make you think it's not working. It is. You just can't see it yet. The algorithm is learning. The audience is forming. Trust is building in the background.
CONSISTENCY BEATS TALENT. I'm not the smartest marketer. I'm not the most creative. I'm the one who showed up 1,095 days in a row. That's it.
CONTENT COMPOUNDS. Your post from 8 months ago is still working for you. People discover it. Share it. It leads them to your new stuff. Every post is an asset that appreciates over time.
